Target Maturity Funds
Fund invests principally in zero-coupon U.S. Treasury securities or in coupon-bearing U.S. government securities targeted to mature in a specific year.

Tax Anticipation Note
A short-term debt obligation issued by a state or municipal government to meet short-term financial needs, and which will be repaid upon maturity with tax receipts.

Tax-Deferred Investment
One in which the accumulated earnings are exempt from taxes until the investor makes a withdrawal. Examples of tax-deferred investments include traditional IRAs and 401(k) accounts.

Taxable
Indicates the presumed tax status for dividend and/or interest payments with respect to a given security. Clients should refer to a more complete security description and discuss whether dividends and/or interest is taxable with a qualified tax advisor.

Taxable Equivalent Yield
The amount of money an investor must earn from a taxable investment to get the same amount of money he or she would have earned on a tax-free investment.

Taxes
The total amount of federal, state and local taxes subject to withholding in connection with your employee stock option exercise, based on information and instructions from your company.

Telecommunication Funds
Fund invests at least 65% of its assets in equity securities of domestic and foreign companies engaged in the development, manufacture, or sales of telecommunications services or equipment.

Telephone Authorization
Indicates whether authorization has been given to the FA, owner, etc to initiate transactions over the phone.

Tenants in Common (TIC)
A form of joint ownership whereby each owner holds an individual interest in property. The interest does not terminate at death, but passes to a deceased owner's estate.

Termination Age
The age when a custodian is required to turn assets, subject to a custodianship, over to the former minor.

Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions under which a specific account or service operates and to which a participating customer agrees to be bound.

Ticks
Upward or downward price movement of a security's trade from the previous reported trade.

Time Limit
Defines the period of time that an order is enforced. Day Order - An order which will expire at the end of the trading day if it is not executed. Fill or Kill (FOK) - An order given to a broker that must immediately be filled in its entirety, or if not possible, it is completely cancelled. This type of order may delay and/or prevent execution. Good Till Canceled (GTC) - An order that remains in effect until it is either executed or canceled. If the order is not renewed within thirty calendar days, it will be systematically canceled at the end of the trading day indicated on the order. All orders with Saturday or Sunday expiration dates expire at the end of the previous trading day. Immediate or Cancel (IOC) - An order where the goal is to buy or sell the stated total quantity but is flexible in two distinct senses: 1. The investor will accept any partial fill. 2. The order, whether partially or fully executed, is immediately cancelled thereafter and does not remain open. As a best practice approach, an investor should consider attaching limits to IOC (Immediate Or Cancel) orders. This type of order may delay and/or prevent execution.

Title
The name(s) of the owner(s) who is (are) legally responsible for the account.

Today's hi/lo
A number indicating the highest and lowest reported trading prices for a stock during the current trading session. When the market is closed, this number indicates the highest and lowest reported prices during the most recent trading session.

Tombstone
An informational announcement giving basic facts about the security's offering. It is not a solicitation to purchase a security. A tombstone gives notice that a prospectus for the offering is available.

Top Ten Most Active Equities
A listing of the 10 stocks with the highest volume of trades during a trading day. The data is delayed at least 15 minutes.

Total Assets
The amount of fund-owned resources that are invested in securities or held in cash as of the previous day.

Total Holdings ($)
Percentage total of Holdings that are currently held in a particular asset class, sector or size/style category.

Total Net Assets
The amount of fund-owned resources that are invested in securities or held in cash as of the previous day, minus the fund's liabilities.

Total Portfolio Value
The total of all cash, money funds, and priced securities in your account.

Total Premiums
Total amount of money deposited in contract.

Total Withdrawals
Total amount of money withdrawn from contract.

Trade Confirmation
The written statement acknowledging a completed securities transaction and making certain disclosures as required by SEC rules.

Trade Date
The date a security sale or purchase is transacted. Settlement may be on the same day or later. Normal settlement is three business days.

Trading Session
Separate and distinct trading systems with their own pricing, order routing and trade reporting.

Transaction Category
A feature that provides a view of an account's activity for a particular transaction type. This includes all activity that occured on the account, or specified date range, for that type of transaction. Transactions categories include: Automatic Teller Machine, Checking, Dividend/Interest, Electronic Bill Pay, Fund Receipts, Funds Transfers, Pending Trades/Dividends, Security Transactions, Visa Classic and Other. By default, "All Categories" includes all activity that occurred on your account regardless of category.

Transaction Type
Represents the type of activity, such as a buy or sell.

Treasury Bill
A short-term direct obligation of the U.S. Treasury that has a maturity of not more than one year.

Treasury Bonds
Securities that are a direct obligation of the U.S. Treasury that have a maturity of not more than 30 years.

Treasury Note
A direct obligation of the U.S. Treasury that has a maturity of at least one but not more than 10 years.

Treasury Securities
Securities that are direct obligations of the United States Treasury.

Trust
A legal relationship created by an individual (the grantor). The grantor, through the trust agreement, determines how, and by whom the property will be managed and used for the benefit of the designated beneficiaries.

Trustee
A person or institution with the legal capacity to receive and hold property held in trust for the benefit of another

Type of Order
Related to Equities: Buy: Purchase of an equity Buy to Cover: The purchase of a long position to offset a short position. Sell: Liquidations of an equity. Sell Short: Borrowing a security from a broker and selling it, with the understanding that it must later be bought back (hopefully at a lower price) and returned to the broker. SEC rules allow investors to sell short only on an uptick or a zero-plus tick. Related to Mutual Funds: Buy: An order to purchase shares of a mutual Fund. Exchange: An order to sell shares of one fund and purchase shares of another fund generally within the same fund family and class. See the prospectus of the fund for conditions and any costs related to an exchange. Sell: An order to sell shares of a mutual fund. Related to Options: Buy to Open: Buying an option contract to establish a new position. Buy to Close: Buying an option contract to close out a pre existing short position. Sell to Close: Selling an option contract to close out a pre existing long position. Sell Covered Call: Selling a call option contract to open when the account holds the underlying security.
